AutoTrac is an assisted automated steering system that automatically steers the machine through the field. AutoTrac is one of the best guidance solutions in the market offering operators a hands-free solution.
John Deere designs machines to easily integrate with AutoTrac, resulting in the most comfortable operating experience in the market. Producers simply plug the display into the provided connection inside the cab and attach the receiver to the roof of the cab.

Autotrac controller

The AutoTrac Controller is an integrated AutoTrac solution for older John Deere and non-John Deere machines. This controller teams up with GreenStar™ components to provide improved performance and operating experience compared to universal steering systems.
For selected models, AutoTrac Controller can utilize the vehicle manufacturer’s automatic steering components. These vehicles will be referenced as guidance ready vehicles.
For non-guidance ready vehicles, the AutoTrac Controller kit contains all hydraulic components needed to work with the GreenStar system.
The result — AutoTrac Controller maintains the efficiency and comfort offered by an uncluttered and orderly cab.
In addition to the market-proven benefits of AutoTrac, this system optimizes machine efficiency, reduces operator fatigue, and allows the operator to maintain faster working speeds.


The AutoTrac Universal (ATU) 200 steering kit is a machine steering kit used for automatic guidance in John Deere and non-John Deere machines. Pair the machine kit with a complete GreenStar™ system to operate automatic, hands-free guidance in approved machine platforms.
AutoTrac offers many benefits to operators, including optimized machine efficiency, reduced operator fatigue, and the ability to work at faster speeds. The ATU 200 is the premier universal steering system in the agricultural industry.

SF1 Accuracy

  • Software activation offering SF1 level of accuracy (+/- 23 cm [9 in.] horizontal) from pass-to-pass within 15 minutes
  • Broad-acre guidance solution
  • Included with the purchase of every StarFire 3000 Receiver
  • Ability to upgrade to SF2

SF2 Accuracy

  • Software activation offering SF2 level of accuracy (+/- 5 cm [2 in.] horizontal) from pass-to-pass within 15 minutes

RTK utilizes a local, ground-based reference station that transmits the high-accuracy +/- 2.5 cm (1 in.) horizontal pass-to-pass and +/- 5.0 cm (2 in.) vertical pass-to-pass corrections to a machine StarFire receiver via RTK Radios. RTK accuracy is measured relative to the base station position and degrades as distance from the base station increases. Horizontal RTK performance is stated at a baseline distance of 20 km (12 miles) and vertical RTK performance is stated at a baseline distance of 2 km (1 mile).

Because of the proximity of the base station to the machine, nearly all satellite drift is eliminated, and the position is highly repeatable. In order for the base-station signal to reach the machine, a direct line of sight is required.


AutoTrac RowSense software is the next step for higher efficiency in corn harvest. This leading-edge technology fuses together satellite position data from the StarFire™ receiver with feeler data gathered from the row sensor, allowing greater levels of productivity.
By fusing satellite and sensor data sources together, growers experience the most accurate automatic guidance system for combines and self-propelled forage harvesters (SPFH) in the industry.
AutoTrac RowSense offers many benefits to operators including the ability to utilize AutoTrac in corn that was planted with or without AutoTrac, increased efficiency in down corn conditions, reduced operator fatigue, and reduced crop loss with accuracy and efficiency on every pass across the field.


iTEC Pro stands for Intelligent Total Equipment Control. It is an innovative module for the GreenStar™ 3 2630 Display. This solution coordinates machine and implement functions with end-of-row turns. By automating these functions, iTEC Pro allows the implement and machine functions to be performed consistently on the headlands or internal boundaries, as well as positions the machine correctly for the next pass through the field.

Machine Sync

John Deere Machine Sync includes combine harvest automation, harvest logistics, coverage map sharing, and guidance line sharing functionality. This functionality has revolutionized machine-to-machine communication.
John Deere Machine Sync provides the following features:

Combine harvest automation
 Combine harvest automation creates a network between a fleet of tractors and combines allowing automation between the combine and the tractor. This facilitates on-the-go unloading by synchronizing tractor speed and direction of travel with the combine. It also provides greater ease of operation with improved efficiency, resulting in increased productivity during harvest. Combine harvest automation requires each machine to be equipped with a John Deere Machine Communication Radio (MCR).

Harvest logistics
Productivity gains are credited to tractor/grain cart operator’s ability to be in the right place at the right time with in-field logistics information. The GreenStar™ 3 (GS3) 2630 Display shows in-field logistics including grain tank-fill status, direction of travel, and location for each combine and tractor in the networked fleet. Harvest logistics requires each machine to be equipped with a John Deere MCR.
Coverage map sharing
Sharing coverage maps while seeding, spraying, or applying fertilizer allows any John Deere Section Control-enabled machine to trigger section control on/off based on another machine’s coverage. Coverage map sharing, combined with integrated section control, eliminates the opportunity for overlapping or leaving uncovered areas in the field, saving on input costs and increasing yield. When used in a harvest operation, coverage map sharing allows a machine to more accurately calculate harvested area by using another machine’s coverage to enable overlap control. Machines can share coverage using an MCR or modular telematics gateway (MTG) 3G solution.
Guidance line sharing
Sharing guidance lines allows AutoTrac™ assisted steering enabled machine to share guidance lines with another vehicle. Guidance line sharing functionality is limited to straight tracks only. Machines can share guidance lines using an MCR or MTG 3G solution.

Section Control

John Deere Section Control (formerly known as Swath Control Pro™ software) is a software activation on the GreenStar™ 3 (GS3) 2630 Display. John Deere Section Control automatically controls the sections on an implement.

When John Deere Section Control is enabled, it utilizes global positioning system (GPS) information to turn implement sections on and off and reduce overlap in previously applied areas. It also can be used to reference interior and exterior field boundaries. John Deere Section Control automatically controls the implement sections as the implement passes through defined boundaries.

John Deere Section Control can be used to turn sections on and off at an exterior headland boundary before the headlands have been applied. This allows the producer to apply the product application last, after the main portion of the field has been applied.

A 15-hour demo activation for John Deere Section Control is included with the GS3 2630 Display.

Greenstar Platforms


•The John Deere GreenStar™ 3 (GS3) 2630 Display is a 26-cm (10.4-in.) color display that features a full-color touchscreen for controlling a variety of precision applications, machines, and implements. 
The GS3 2630 Display also allows operators to set up multiple home pages and navigate to each home page easily and efficiently, all while other applications are in use. The GS3 2630 Display is specifically designed for producers who desire maximum efficiency, productivity, and premium features.


The 4100 and 4600 CommandCenter, also known as the Generation 4 CommandCenter, creates the primary user interface for 6R, 7R, 8R/8RT and 9R/9RT Tractors. The Generation 4 CommandCenter provides an excellent, user-savvy operating experience.

Producers can also use a variety of implements with the Generation 4 CommandCenter as it is ISOBUS virtual terminal (VT) capable.

Expect machine productivity gains, along with increased operator confidence thanks to a simple, customizable interface. The reliability of the Generation 4 CommandCenter also aids in optimal operating experience and maximizes uptime.

GreenStar 2 (GS2) 1800 is an 18-cm (7-in.) color display. It features state-of-the-art, full-color screens that allow the operator to configure multiple home pages and quickly toggle through them to monitor many applications that may be running at the same time. The integrated display control features a scroll wheel and 14 buttons.

Starfire 3000 Receiver

The StarFire 3000 Receiver is a 66-channel, multi-frequency differential Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver. Standard features on the StarFire 3000 Receiver include access to satellite signals from both the GPS and GLONASS satellites for SF1, SF2, or RTK correction level. This receiver offers true 3-D integrated terrain compensation and upgradable accuracy.  
These features allow the StarFire 3000 Receiver to provide more reliable positioning in areas with intermittent satellite availability or in other uncontrollable satellite environments. The StarFire 3000 Receiver also responds faster and more accurately to changes in terrain. The level of accuracy can be increased on the StarFire 3000 Receiver without having to purchase a new receiver.


JDLink is John Deere's telematics system designed for producers, dealers, and equipment managers who desire to take their operations to the next level of productivity, efficiency, and security. Whether it is receiving an email or text message, users can make management decisions in real-time regardless of location. Using the power of JDLink, producers and managers can increase productivity, increase uptime, and lower cost of operation. Information collected by JDLink can easily be accessed from a computer or mobile device.

JDLink information is accessible on the JDLink website, JDLink mobile application and the Operations Center. This allows easy access for customers to manage their fleet and operators. Once machines are equipped with JDLink Connect, dealers can use the information to deliver services to producers.


The ability to remotely view the machine’s settings, performance, yield, acres, and other information is invaluable when managing or supervising an operation. The operator’s equipment keeps running productively and enables the producer or dealer to provide remote support to improve the quality and efficiency of work while saving time and money.

John Deere WDT helps save time, money, and increases productivity by enabling the cellular transmission of setup, prescription, and documentation data files between the office and the GreenStar ™ 3 (GS3) 2630 Display in the machine. WDT can be initiated from MyJohnDeere Operations Center on a desktop or mobile device, and from farm management information software like Apex™ software. Being able to plan, document, and analyze information from anywhere gives flexibility and access to tools needed to make better decisions.

By utilizing the current JDLink™ communications system and Remote Display Access (RDA) infrastructure, such as modular telematics gateway (MTG), ethernet cable, and GS3 2630, additional value is realized from the hardware investment. Eliminating time spent managing USB sticks translates into more efficient and easier to use data management practices. Data transferred via WDT can easily be shared within MyJohnDeere to help producers interact with advisers that help manage data.

Rate Controllers


The GreenStar™ (GS) Rate Controller is a component that allows the GreenStar display to integrate with many implements, such as non-John Deere pull-type sprayers, anhydrous ammonia applicators, liquid manure spreaders, liquid fertilizer systems, and some planters.


The GreenStar Rate Controller Dry is a component that allows the GreenStar 3 2630 Display to integrate with non-John Deere self-propelled and pull-type dry box spinner spreaders and multi-tank air carts.

Precision Ag Management


Apex Farm Management software is a basic program that archives historical field data where it can be visualized in the form of maps and reports and can be used to create prescriptions, boundaries, and guidance lines. Such information helps to implement better management practices and, in turn, leads to maximizing productivity and profitability.


Operations Center in MyJohnDeere is an online ag data solution that helps to collect machine, logistic, and agronomic data in a centralized location. Operations Center provides tools that empower users and their advisers to make decisions and analyze those decisions before, during, and after the crop season to enhance profitability. Access to Operations Center can be obtained from any Internet-connected device – desktop, laptop, or mobile devices.
MyJohnDeere Operations Center is the platform for products and services that improve machine uptime, logistics management and agronomic decision making in a centralized location to help plan, run, and manage an operation.


John Deere Mobile Data Transfer (MDT) creates a seamless portal to and from the Operations Center and enables immediate access to business critical information. It allows growers and their trusted advisers to wirelessly share data with one another via their preferred cellular provider without having to waste time and resources traveling to exchange a data storage device.
John Deere MDT utilizes a USB to Wi-Fi device in order to export files from an in-cab display then sends those files directly to the Operations Center of MyJohnDeere using a smartphone. Additionally, setup and prescription files can be pulled from the My Files section of the Operations Center account while in a machine in the field.

That is where Mobile Farm Manager can help. Customers will get instant on-the-go access to all their data. They can view any map and any report from any year, view historical applications, analyze historical reports, and use their phone or tablet’s global positioning system (GPS) to track their position within their fields. Generate grid zones and track the results while soil sampling and more.
Currently, customers can wirelessly move data between Apex™ and Mobile Farm Manager. Moving data between Apex and Mobile Farm Manager is flexible and easy. It just takes connecting both Apex and Mobile Farm Manager to the same Wi-Fi network. Once connected, transferring data is as easy as pushing a button.
Mobile Farm Manager is compatible with the iOS® and Android® mobile platforms and can be used on Apple®, iPad®, iPhone®, and Android mobile devices.
